Céline & Sébastien
LeSeurre

Céline and Sébastien LeSeurre are a French husband and wife winemaking team
living and working in the Finger Lakes. When they first moved to New York, they
explored the Finger Lakes by visiting and sampling grapes from the many different
terroirs — geography, geology, and climate of a certain place — and soon
determined this is the best place to grow beautiful grapes and craft fine wine
together.

We unite our French heritage and new world wine experience to develop Finger
Lakes wines which pair well with fine cuisine as well as casual fare. When people
ask us what a good wine is, we love to say that it is the one you enjoy, so we hope
that you will enjoy Domaine LeSeurre wines with your friends and family.

“I’m originally from Champagne and my family has been hand crafting wine and growing grapes for 6 generations. I studied viticulture & enology for 6 years in Champagne, and
sales & marketing in wine & spirits in Reims for 1 year. Then, my passion for wine and
Master OIV MSC diploma lead me to travel the world — visiting 32 countries (connecting with wine producers & oenophiles) in one year!
After 9 vintages in Champagne, I wanted to learn how others were making wine so I
visited other parts of France and regions of the world. I worked one vintage in
Saint-Émillion (Bordeaux), one in Languedoc-Roussillon (Maury), one in Marlborough
(New Zealand), one in Yarra Valley (Australia). Eventually my desire to learn brought me
to the Finger Lakes where I found myself quickly connecting with the terroirs and
community.”

About
Sébastien

“I’m originally from the Toulouse region in the southwest of France, and grew up around my grandparents’ vineyard located in the foothills of the Pyrénées. From 2002 until 2005, I took sommelier classes and graduated with a Degree in Hospitality and Tourism from the University of Toulouse. Rich from the few years of sommelier classes, I decided that I would like to transform my passion for wine into my professional career, so I worked for a French winery named Le Cellier des Templiers (Languedoc-Roussillon). Sébastien and I met in New Zealand in 2009 in the beautiful vineyard, Clos Henri Vineyard, where we worked for almost 2 years. We continued travelling the wine world together, and ended up in Australia for the 2011 vintage, handcrafting wine for DeBortoli wines. Then, for almost 2 years, I was the US Brand Ambassador for M. Chapoutier, the world renowned winemaker and producer of the finest Rhône Valley appellations.”
